The pastoral work of the Brazilian Catholic community in Dublin has experienced, amidst numerous challenges, the transformative power of the Gospel, capable of touching the most arid and thirsty hearts. To achieve this, it is necessary to awaken in pastoral agents the need to attune their hearts to the heart of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, of whom all are instruments.
The chapel is organized into pastoral groups, movements, and services. In addition to the Chaplain, the community has a council, composed of 7 people, which led the activities before the arrival of Friar Severino and now operates under his guidance. This group meets periodically to evaluate the community’s actions and plan pastoral service.
The Groups:
- Welcome ministry – prepares the spaces, welcomes people, and assists them.
- Alcolyte and Ceremonialist Group – assists in sacred rites.
- Theological Café – monthly meeting for formation in various areas of theology.
- Liturgical Music Ministry – 35 people divided into groups that take turns providing music.
- Catechesis for adults – those preparing for Christian initiation. Consecrated to Jesus through Mary (Montfort) – we collaborate in organizing and preparing new converts.
- Pastoral communication (internal and external) – present on the main social networks.
- Emmanuel Youth Group – meets twice a month. Family Pastoral – includes leading couples who carry out work directed at families.
- Pre-marital formation – marriage preparation sometimes held in Ireland or Brazil.
- Formation for parents and godparents – preparation for those who wish to baptize their children or godchildren.
- Liturgy group – especially the readers who collaborate in the celebrations.
