Who we are

The Catholics in Dublin community emerged in early 2009 when a small group of Brazilians, motivated by homesickness, met a priest who had been a missionary in Brazil and who agreed to celebrate Holy Mass in Portuguese.

Our community’s mission is to provide religious services to Brazilians residing in Ireland. These are mostly young exchange students who live primarily in the country’s capital. They are people who leave Brazil to study English and/or work, seeking an international experience.

For almost two years, the Catholics in Dublin community has had a chaplain, the Capuchin friar Severino Pinheiro, who dedicates himself full-time to the pastoral service of Brazilians in various locations throughout Ireland.
